Namibia is one hour ahead of GMT in the winter months, April to September, and two hours ahead of GMT from October to March. Namibia’s time changes on the first Sunday of April to wintertime and back to summertime on the first Sunday in September.
In September 1993 Namibia introduced its own currency, the Namibia Dollar (N$), divided into 100 cents. The Namibia Dollar is linked toand on par with the South African Rand (R), also legal tender in Namibia. Most major foreign currencies and traveller’s cheques can be exchanged in Namibia at several well-situated commercial banks and bureaus de change. International Visa, Master Card, American Express and Diners Club credit cards are accepted at most retail outlets and accommodation facilities.
